much ado about... stuff?
So, there have been quite a few serious posts on this blog, but I've noticed that there aren't too many funny posts or experience posts. So, Ima tell you about some of the funny things that have happened.
Gorilla art:
Many of you know that I like art, like, all art. So, I've been working on drawing and sketching recently, and thanks to my wonderful teacher Brianna, I've been getting somewhere. So, I drew a picture of somebody... and that person will go unnamed, so we'll just call him Nate, but... well... he turned out looking like a bald woman... Oh well, I just need to work on sme stuff. My drawing of aaron also turned out looking like a gorilla... I hate drawing lips...
Egyptan Rat Screws:
So, I was playing ERS with a few friends, and one of those people was Corim... Well, in short, we both got super intense during the game, and out of the blue, after I had slapped a sandwich, Corim ATTACKS me!!! Apparently she thought I was Salomon lol. Neither of us got hurt though, so it's all good.
Buised fingers:
On tuesday, we were going to have a bonfire on the beach and do some recap and beach worship. Well, it turned out to be another peer outreach event since almost every teenager on the island showed up to the bonfire. So, my set of five turned into a set of 25, and I played for quite a while... ouch... Those of you who enjoy guitar can sympatize with me. By the end of the night, I think I had a deep tissue bruise on my fingertips.
This one's from the retreet:
So, at the retreet, we had another bonfire (you notice something about fire and where John Paul goes...), but we were roasting oysters when all of a sudden, I decide to warm up a cookie on the fire grate. Being my smart self, I grab two cookies and put them on a paper plate. Putting the paper plate (with the cookies) onto the fire grate, John Paul tells me that It'll burn. Quickly, I respond, "It's not gonna burn... It's paper!" Ouch... I really menat to say that I put the plate close to the fire, but not close enough to catch on fire in my opinion. Still, don't do that
Dreams:
Last night, I had a dream that we were gonna leave Ahousaht, drive home, get an onion, and come back... I remember thinking that Tim was crazy in the dream, but when I woke up... I realized what it really was...
Well, goodbye for now! I G2G meet for a meeting
It won't burn! It's paper!

Hey! Shannon here!
We've been here for about eight days now (I think?) and I realized something; Ahousaht is the place that I've lived the longest since my family left for Texas. My normal stay is about three to four days, so a full ten is a little weird. I guess that explains why I was so restless a couple of days ago. I was ready to move on to the next house. Now, that feeling has gone. Funny, but it's really starting to feel like home. I know that there are people here who can't wait the leave. I don't blame them, it's stressful here. The entire group is tense, and fights are happening more often than they need to. We have people who are sick, and people who are really hurt. Some (most) of us long for real beds, though I haven't caught anyone complaining about the food. Let's just say, it's getting tough. Yet, I got to that point long ago. I reached my end, the end of me. The Bible says that it's when we're weak that we're strong (2 Corinthians I think... you can check me on that). When we reach our end, God comes and takes over. He becomes our strength. I can't speak for anyone else here, but I know for me, that's the whole truth. I have died to myself once again on this trip. Maybe that's why I finally have energy, not physical, but mental and spiritual. Tim claimed that this trip was starting to go bad, but for some reason, I can only see the good. Who knows, I could be bias.
Anyway, thanks for the prayers! I can see God's hand here as we continue on. Today, I had the wonderful opportunity of watching a kid come to Christ. I could tell that he really got what I was saying. By the time I told him about Jesus dying for our sins, he just kept repeating, "I love God! I love God!" When we were singing, he closed his eyes. As I asked him what he was doing, he said he was singing to God. I think he got that from us. His name is Ethan, and he's around third or fourth grade (I think?). If you could, prayers for him and for the others who made their commitment today would be appreciated.
I will see you all very soon! And to my loving family, I'll see you in a week from Sunday! I love you guys! Thank you for giving me this opportunity!!!!
Its Day 8...
Hey friends and family, its Isabelle!
I seriously miss you all SO much, and I just want to give you all an update on the trip so far. Despite some difficult and testing times it has been great. I have seen so much growth in this team as a whole and in myself. I think that one thing I have really loved is the teen outreach nights. Our first one was out on the beach and we played pushball, had smores, and had a giant game of glow in the dark ultimate Frisbee. I got the chance to have conversations with many teens and it was great to be able to see the teens having fun because on this island they don’t get much opportunity to spend time with other teens. Besides that, we have been having a blast at VBS. Our very first day we had over 80 kids show up, it was amazing! We have seen the kids stretched so much throughout this week and it’s a really awesome thing to see. Today at VBS we got the chance to talk to kids in depth about the gospel and offer them the opportunity to accept Christ into their lives. A number of them made that decision. Its not everyday that you get to experience the changing of young kids lives, and I loved it! We only have a few days left and I’m so thrilled to see what else God is going to do in the lives of these people and the team. Please continue to be praying for our strength and energy as we are feeling really drained. Cant wait to see you all when we get back !
Love you all,
Isabelle.

Hola mis amigos
Hey guys, it's me Gabby.
This has by far been the most difficult mission trip I've ever been on. Honestly, never before have I yearned to be alone for even just a few minutes, or wanted to explode like a volcano, OR wanted to bawl my eyes out. I know it's not bad, and it really could be worse, but I just feel so drained. I'm trying to stay positive however, because I know that once you start feeling negative about a trip, the metaphorical doo-doo will hit the fan.
Things have been going pretty great though, I feel freaking awesome because I got a shower today after having to be gross and sweaty for like 3 days. VBS has been going great too; on the first day alone we had more than 75 kids show up (which was completely overwhelming oh my lanta). The second day was way better, we had about 50. Which, you know, is still too many for us to completely manage on our own with our cute little team of 28, but still, things went great.
Tonight is an evangelistic event for all the teens on the island; we're going to do a movie night. It should be fun, hopefully a lot of people show up.
Mentally, everyone on our team is feeling pretty out of it. Actually, everyone was pretty exhausted by the second full day we were here. But Tim's been reminding us that it's at our lowest points that God shows up the most, so I'm optimistic! I'd really appreciate it if you guys could continue to keep us in your prayers, there's a lot of illness in the team, and it would be a bummer if people weren't able to participate in VBS half-way through the week.
Bella, Daddy, I wuv you and miss you bunches, and I hope you're not having too much fun without me.
Thanks for reading!

Be still...
Hey guys, It's me Enoch.. or Keviin... or... well, whatever they call me these days... Either way, I was meditating on a certain phrase earlier this week, and I wanted to share it with you.
Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God."
Go ahead... read it again... Be still, and know that I am God
Be Still... And Know... That I AM GOD!
That's so cool! Honestly, take a few minutes and look at that phrase! We don't have to worry about anything! There's a cougar on the island, but I don't have to worry. I can be still and know that God is there and he will always be there!
Be still, and know that I am God... Do I really have to worry at all? This is so cool! Be still, and know that I AM God! God's name "I AM" is used in this!
Tell me this, Am I (Are you) so important that I (you) can block out God? what about ignoring Him?
Don't worry about stuff not worth worrying about! God is amazing!
Seriously...
BE STILL...
AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD!!!!!!!!!!!
that statement is breathtakingly beautiful.
Either way, that was somthing cool that I saw.
Right now, it's day six and I have four ginournous bug bites on my arms. But, other than that, It's going great! God is so amazing and He works in ways completely unexpected which leads me back into that statement, "Be still, and know that I am God!!!" haha, God's so amazing.
To my amazing awesome extraordinary fantastic very YOUNG mommy:
I love you, and I really miss you but, you can be rest assured that I'm where God wants me to be. So many amazing things have happened. I have photos and I will show you when I get home!
I love you!
Keep Praying.
See you later/adios/adieu/chuu

My Experience So Far
Hey Guys! It's Nate, so my experience here has been so wonderful! Iliterally love it here. Okay so....On our way here everyone basically fell asleep when we got across the border. But when we got on the water taxi I was looking out at the water and got this sudden urge that I wasn't meant to be here that I needed to find a way home, not because I was already missing home(which I kinda was) but that I just wasn't meant to be here. That night Tim and I talked and he told me it wasn't God speaking but that it was Satan and that I needed to pray and talk with God, so before I went to bed I prayed, woke up had breakfast with the same feeling and then did my devotions, and when I finished my devotions, the voice in my head and heart was gone, I felt and knew my reason for being here and instantly i fell in love with the island and the people. God has been so great to me theses past few days! :) Also on Thursday night we went out to the beach and I looked to my left over to the moutains and I watched the sunset over the backside of the mountains and man was beautiful!
Friday we participated in the Ahousaht sports day games, with the canoe races, man was that fun, we really connected with the kids and everyone! That night we went to the game awards, and played more games like Kick The Feather, which is basically reverse Limbo and The Knuckle Hop, which is where you get into a up position of a push-up and have your knuckles on the ground and you hop to see how far you can go...it's so painful, one of the teenagers here ask me to be apart of it and I ended up going 38ft! That was Friday night and my knuckles still hurt from it and it's Monday morning.
Sunday was alot of fun, we held the sunday school for the kids, played a game of baskteball where I met two guys named Lauren and Gabe. After the game Lauren and I talked and he said I should come back and finish up my high school year here in Ahousaht. Sunday night the guys on our team got invited on a boat trip to go fishing by a man named Harvey. We caught six salmon, 5 regular sized salmon I would say and then a big one. When we got back to the dock Harvey gutted one of the fish, and then Spencer gutted some of them and so did ! :D haha it was awesome!! It's been so much fun, I'm excited for today and tonight. Today we have VBS for the kids and then tonight we have an outreach for the teenagers. Whoever reads this can you email it to my parents? I don't know if they know about the blog. Their email is nunatuna@comcast.net. Thank you so much!! Mom, Dad, L.B, Joe, Daisy, Punum I miss you all and hope your all doing well!! I love you guys and will write soon and be home soon :) again I really do love it here. This blog is in paragraph cause Alan said it looked like my life story and that I should put it in paragraphs, so...yeah.

Last day of Ahousaht Sports week and Potluck Dinner
Yesterday we attended the last day of Sports week here. We had two teams, one girls and one boys team, entered into a few canoe races. Lets just say we held up our own for not ever canoeing. I watch from the shore as our teams crossed a channel over to an island about 3/4 of a mile away. The ride there seemed to go fine as it is a 30 minute average round trip. Ill have the other kids elaborate on the canoeing experience later!
Dinner/Potluck was a culturing experience for all of us. We had quite a few choices of food and got to sit with several of the locals. The potluck was to celebrate the end of Sport Week here in Ahousaht and to hand out trophies and prizes. After we took part in some cultural games which were quite interesting, like knuckle hop and kick the feather.
Keep an eye out on the blog and facebook sites for more pictures and videos coming!

Canoeing With the Homies
Hey guys! It’s me, Shannon!
I love being back in Ahousaht! It feels almost like coming home. God is everywhere here, literally everywhere! Or maybe I’m just now seeing Him more. Either way, I can tell that we are ALL growing in Christ, and it’s only been a day!
Today I had the exciting chance to join a canoe race against the locals. My advise, don’t ever do that. You’ll lose. The winners did it in fifteen minutes, I think, with second place getting around twenty. Well, we came in last, but we don’t know what time we got. They stopped the clock at fifty minutes before we were towed in by a motor boat. Ouch. Oh well, I’m going to get some great muscles from this, and I already have a tan coming in.
Tonight we’re preparing to go to a potlatch, where we will eat all the salmon our tiny stomachs can handle, and will get to know the people a little bit better. The natives hinted that they might make us sing. Knowing them, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Please please please PRAY!!!! Pray for open hearts for both us and them. Pray for boldness, and for the Spirit to come over us. Pray that God uses us for His will.
To my family, I miss you lots. Tell Emerson that I’m proud of him. I love you guys so much. Be home soon!
To Josh, Samantha says hi and that she misses you! You’d better have a big hug waiting for this girl.
To everyone thinking of us and praying for us: THANK YOU!!!! (and sorry for going on so long)
Talk to you all soon!

Good to be home!
Last year was such an amazing experience and we are all pumped for this year. The drive to Tofino went very smooth without any complications, but when it came to the water taxi we faced some trouble. Last year we had 2 taxis and this year they only sent 1 for us. After a lot of prayer God provided and we were able to make it here safe and sound. It really feels like we were coming home. I can't wait for what's next to come this week. Missing everyone back home though. <3
